Arts and Education Programs
Our Creative Arts Studio hosts a variety of classes in the visual arts for beginners to expert skill levels. We offer classes in painting, knitting and crocheting, and new classes fill the calendar all the time. Lakewood has quite a few accomplished artists and many others who simply enjoy expressing themselves through the creative outlets of visual art. Some residents showcase their art and photography within on-campus galleries.

A favorite for many of our residents, our well-equipped woodworking shop lets you pursue your hobby whether you own tools or not. Residents have use of workbenches with table saws, drill press, circular and scroll saws, sanders, and jointers. There’s a spirit of sharing and teaching among the woodworkers of all levels who enjoy building and polishing their wooden creations as well as donating them to charitable causes.
